Sports Therapy

Sports Therapy is an aspect of healthcare that is specifically concerned with the prevention of injury and the rehabilitation of the patient back to optimum levels of functional, occupational and sports specific fitness, regardless of age and ability.

It utilises the principles of sport and exercise science incorporating physiological and pathological processes to prepare the participant for training, competition and where applicable, work.

How to get the best from sports therapy

Located in Ossett, Wakefield at the well established Viking Strength Gym. Push Pull Jump Sports Therapy services are centred around providing the appropriate soft tissue treatment following a detailed assessment, evaluation and effectively programming and implementing rehabilitation for return to training, work and pain free daily living. Viking Strength Gym provides both the space for clinical assessment and to explore physical base markers to build on. We are able to make use of the functional space as well as the free weight area to provide a well structured rehab or prehab programme.

As a fully insured member of the Society of Sports Therapists (SST), since qualifying in 2009. I have been able to integrate the competencies of Sports Therapy within several fields having worked in sport (University of Cambridge Rowing, City of Peterborough Swimming, Rapha cycling), Corporate Wellbeing (Office Athletes), and in the NHS as a rehabilitation Therapist. Combined with my Experience as an Accredited Strength and Conditioning coach (UKSCA), has led to a rehab approach of improving clients movement and load tolerances, education around injury and pain, providing understanding of rehab programming and progressions with the goal of creating client self management strategies for long term success.
