Cycling

Cycling has been my primary sport from a young age, I’ve also been lucky enough to work as a soigneur for Rapha in 2014 as part of their team supporting trips across the Alps, Dolomites and Pyrenees. Combining my experiences in the cycling world along with knowledge as a UKSCA Accredited Coach and Member of the Society of Sports Therapists I’m able to understand the needs of the cyclist and the physical demands that are required, whether riding crits, sportives or long-distance gravel events.

Cycling

Performance can be a case of getting across the line first and working up your ranking points or getting fit enough for an upcoming sportive. A Bespoke screening process to identify areas to work on followed by a structured Strength and Conditioning programme can help achieve these improvements in performance. Working alongside your bike based miles, a Strength and Conditioning programme can help improve power development, trunk stability and mobility in order to produce power in the position you need.

Cycling injuries

The nature of cycling means that the majority of cycling injuries are as a result of collision whether in a race or if you’ve just started riding with cleats and forget to unclip at the traffic light. As assessment can not only help guide return to training following the necessary healing process but also look to maintain fitness around your injury. As well as collision type injuries, the high volume that can come with cycling may also cause some pains and niggles at the knees, lower back and shoulders. A detailed look into joint mobility and weaknesses that may be contributing to these pains can help improve the affected areas to get back riding pain free.

Viking strength gym provides the facilities to test, assess and train the right way to get you riding fast.
