Strength and conditioning
The role of a Strength & Conditioning coach is to improve sporting and exercise performance, general health and reduce risk of injury and functional pain. This is achieved by combining knowledge of programming, movement and targeted tissue adaptation utilising principles of sport and exercise science.
Whether you are an elite athlete searching for gains or just wanting to keep up with the grandkids, strength and conditioning can give you the tools to achieve this.
How to get the best from strength & conditioning
Located in Ossett, Wakefield at the well established Viking Strength Gym. Push Pull Jump Strength & Conditioning service plans, delivers and reviews the physical and physiological development of an individual aligned to the specific needs of sports performance or their physical health and wellbeing. Viking Strength provides the space and environment to achieve these aims, making use of the functional space as well as the free weight area to support athletic and physical performance.
As an UKSCA accredited coach, I have been fortunate enough to help develop youth athletes (City of Peterborough Swimming, Swim England), as well as preparing senior athletes (Cambridge University Women's Rowing) for major competition. This accumulated experience enables the effective integration of strength and conditioning principles across all ages and abilities. Working alongside your training, programming can not only work alongside your sport and skill based training as you work toward major competitions of the year but also being aware of the typical daily routine such as work, education and family to ensure the programme works for the individual.
