What I can help with
Musculoskeletal injury and pain can impact sporting performance or quality of daily life. Effectively assessing, treating and managing acute sprains, strains, or chronic conditions like osteoarthritis can ensure short term positive outcomes but also arm you with the tools for long term success.
Lower Back Pain
Pain, stiffness and tension of the lower back can be very common and can be restricting to everyday life. Pain can be caused by sprains and strains, neural or disc based pain. Back pain can often improve on its own but assessing the nature of the pain or injury can help improve recovery and guide rehab for return to sport of pain free living.
Knee Pain
Knee pain can be caused by bursitis, patellofemoral issues. iliotibial band syndrome, strains and sprains, and issues with the cartilage. Assessing the cause and structures affected allows for structured rehab to improve function at the knee to the level that is needed and beyond. Keeping the lower limb strong and healthy can ensure greater mobility and help to live well for longer!
Shoulder injuries
For the shoulder to function well it relies on its wide range of movement. Injury through a fall, overloading or overuse can prevent the shoulder moving well and so reducing sporting performance and quality of daily living. Reassurance through assessment and planned progresive treatment can return the shoulder to pre-injury levels and also look to ensure it is robust enough to deal with the stresses of sporting performance or daily stressors.
Neck Pain
Neck pain can develop suddenly or may develop slowly over time. Typically pain occurs from a sprain, strain, or nerve irritation. Stiffness because of this can have a big effect on daily living and can make simple tasks very challenging and uncomfortable. Restoring function by reducing pain and conditioning the neck to support required movement needed should be a priority with rehabilitation.
